The event was almost stopped halfway after Hikaru Nakamura tested positive for COVID-19, but in the end it was only delayed an hour. The top earners in Warsaw ($70,000 each) were 17-year-old Bibisara Assaubayeva and Alexandra Kosteniuk, with Bibisara taking Blitz gold to her rival's silver, while Valentina Gunina made it double bronze.
