A bisento is a Japanese polearm characterized by a long, heavy, curved blade mounted on a staff, resembling the Chinese Guandao. The Japanese-style glaive known as the bisento is composed of a curved blade, akin to that of a scimitar, attached to a long shaft. Though it resembles the Guandao, it differs from its Chinese counterpart by its longer blade which was not quite as broad, yet still quite heavy.
